. . . is how fast it grows in the beginning. I cast on for Peacock Feathers last Friday and already I am almost done with chart two. Yes, impressive. And even more impressive considering there is a chart 1 and a chart 1A. I’m working the shawl on US 4 needles in Zephyr — the same set-up I used for the Frost Flowers & Leaves shawl — and the soft, familiar yarn is a welcome change from the cotton dishcloth I’ve been making. I’m sure I’ll be sick of it before too long, but for the moment it’s going well and I’m happy to be working on another “big” project.

- "The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together: our virtues would be proud, if our faults whipped them not; and our crimes would despair, if they were not cherished by our virtues."

ugh, i’m jealous. you finish frosty, then you start and power through the shawl that i started like twice but never finished. well i know i messed up when i tried to talk to my bf on the phone and forgot to reverse the pattern for the second half. i didn’t even try to tink back. i would’ve cried a little bit, and i was in that “take it off the needles if it disobeys your hands” mode. well it’s good to see there’s still hope for little old me.
It looks beautiful already! You have to send some of that lace love my way; I ripped out my mom’s spring things and I can’t bring myself to go back. The mohair was sucking my will to live, so I’ve been zoning out on some stockinette socks. It’s knitting xanax.
