While life has taken me away from blogging in the past few years, I am still an avid knitter and Raveler.
It’s been exciting to see so many people tackle Levi’s Blanket! I never managed to get the written-out charts completed, but several wonderful knitters have. For those who find the original charts I created a bit too daunting, here, at long last, are written directions.
Levi’s Blanket – Written Directions by Mary W
Thanks to Mary W. for translating and providing the directions to be shared! Mary has graciously agreed to be contacted with questions about her directions. She is hlbronwyn at hotmail.
Happy knitting,

[...] VITAL STATISTICS: Pattern: My own. I think the recipe for Levi’s blanket is fairly simple but I’ve never designed anything before. Please leave a comment with any questions or thoughts! **Please note: Written (as opposed to charted) directions are now available here.** [...]
Thank you so much for these , the blanket is lovely. I need all the help I can get. Although I can competently crochet I find instructions and even diagrams difficult as I dont hold the crochet hook in any way Ive seen anyone else do! This was how Mum taught me and I think she was self taught. I tend to hold the hook very much as if I was knitting, ladies at our library group saw me doing it this way and were fascinated! One even has tried to adapt to my method and finds it easier with her arthritic hands! As long as we are all crafting, sharing experiences and having fun who cares!!!
help, I cannot download the written pattern and would appreciate it if someone would kindly e-mail it to me – I am 70 years old and not real computer literate and would dearly love to make this blanket My e-mail is: tlfirman@yahoo.com sincerest thanks to anyone who can help
Fantastic that this pattern was translated into written!
Do you suggestion taping it together lengthwise? I might do that.
I’m blown away by the pattern and then the charting and then the written.
If I ever get this started and finished I’ll be even more impressed! LOL At my age (finished 75) everything is exciting and impressive.
